再别康桥

虽然不知道结果会是怎样但是还是蛮值得的。。。
申请剑桥，让人期待，让人伤心

My entire interview:
I=interviewer, M =me

M: I have been anticipating this day for a really long time
I: pardon ( lol first sentence ... I talk so softly)

M: Help is really good and helpful , they prepare us more many things, like for the Oxbridge interview and also let potential world award winner to have extra training class
I: what did they train you guys for the interview...
M: err... stun there ... but they can't train our ability
(referring back to my ps)
I: So you won many competitions, and you are applying to Trinity, why do you apply to Trinity?
M:Because Trinity is big and gorgeous
I: Magdalene is small and gorgeous
M: and there's many people in Trinity , I want to meet more people > < lll
I: hand me a paper with question (factorise x^2 + 2i)
M:then I start to do the usual way ... then after a while I stop there because I am thinking ... how come so complicated d
I: you are doing the right way , go on ...
M: still stun there
I: for my level I can know the answer by first sight , by guessing it is easier to see the answer
M: can I guess?
I: go ahead
M: then I write (x-1+i)(x-1-i)
I: alright there you go ..
M:I guess correctly?? wow ...
I: nono ... check the answer ... Trinity must be really dissapointed if we do things like that
M: (find out it is the wrong answer) err wrong guess
I: hmm .. let me do it myself ... then he write (x-(1+i))(x+(1+i))
M: but I check back my long method .. it should be something like 1-i , and I told him
I: err xxx , ok now I need you to factorise x^4 + 4
M: (x^2+2i)(x^2 -2i)
I: there you go ... now I need you to factorise into 4 linear form
M: (eii ... how come (x-(1+i))(x+(1+i)) = (x^2 -2i)) ... then I told him that he did wrongly for the previous one
I: then he checked ... hmm you must never trust an interviewer
M: then I write the answer : (x-(1+i))(x+(1+i))(x-(1-i))(x+(1-i))
M: now factorise x^4 +4 into 2 quadratic form with real coefficient
I: then I write (x^2 -2x +2) (x^2 +2x +2)
M: ok now prove that x^4 + 4 is always a prime no.
I: then I say .. one factor must be 1
M: (x^2 -2x +2) (x^2 +2x +2) = ((x-1)^2 +1) ((x+1)^2 +1)
I: one of them must be greater than one right?
M:( thinking .. how come when x=2, it is not a prime no. zzz) both of them are greater than one
I: so it is not a prime no. (something like that)

I: in your form .. you said that you are applying for Jardine , if you didnt get .. can you parents support you finance?
M: they can
I: good ... so you must sure to get 4 A star for your A-levels
M: for maths definitely
I: ya I can see that ... there is a written test at Sunway this college , so you wont have much problems ba since you can do this question
M: stun there ( I always so humble d lar)
I: ok I think it is about time ...
M: I have a request actually ?
I: what izzit
M: I want to join your financial research team , I read that you research for financial engineering
I: xxx,my team is really small , about x , but we normally won't take freshman , if we take ,normally for them is just some boring stuff
M: I don't mind
I: ok .. I will bare you in mind
M: I read that you invest in financial market
I: I write models to estimate the market , we normally need to keep on write and change our model because things change rapidly , if we use the old one then it is irrelevant
M: could it be due to US economic crisis?
I: no ... I normally invest in the Asia market , not the US market ... and for Asia it changes so rapidly
M: why
I: because there is so many political factors in Asia , the politics in Asia are not stable
I: i think it should be around that , there is other people waiting outside , it is my pleasure to talk to you , I wish to talk more but there is not enough time
M: thank you Dr stuart martin ...

quite well ( around 35~40 minutes interview)

I did so well for my A-levels (Sem 1) (5 subjects), Step , S for step 1 , 1 for step 2 , and interview ( quite ok lar ... I will rank myself 7/10)

everyone is like so shocked when I corrected the interviewer .. it's actually nothing , everyone make mistake mar ...

and the last one is written test
就像给你很完美的生命， 到最后一分钟跟你说，一切都是假的，你做的都是白废的

7 questions 1 question : do 6 out of 10 question .. I took around 45 minutes for it
I chose the trigo question .. when I see it , wow I am so lucky , I just did it in STEP 2 2004 past years yesterday ... like that also I can do dao ... but !! I can't get the answer ?? how come gosh
next one I chose a complex number ... factorise z^9-1 and make it into 1 liner form and 4 quadratic form .... I was taught how to do ... but zzz
the last one is a mechanic question , ball A,B,C in a straight line , what range will there be so B will collide A for second time ... in my mind I kept on thinking ... B must change direction to collide zz ...

estimate mark : 42%
my estimated marks for step 2 is 70++ and I get rank 1 ...

this time I really screw my written test ... so sad .. sad dao no feeling jor

如果上天要给我剑桥，为何会让我最后一个考试考到酱烂，不明白，就好像我被玩了一圈，interview觉得自己应该可以进了，现在却不一定了。。
被玩的感觉，但也许是上天在告诉我，我想给你进剑桥，但是你要知觉你还需好很努力，即使进到了

我只想，让我读过的学校骄傲
也许数学好不是天生的，就像刘明华
即使新加坡，香港学的数学很深，但是到了大学也不一定厉害，因为中学是把全部资料塞进你的头脑
可是大学是你自己找资料，
我在HELP浪费了太多时间，变笨了太多

重新呼吸吧。。。至少你有了方向，懂得好如何用你的生命
